Pregnancy Acne Cure

Pregnancy Acne — Anyone have a cure for this? Please someone offer me some advice or a miracle cure. I’m about 21 weeks pregnant and my pregnancy acne is getting worse, not better. I don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t want to use a product that will harm the baby but the pimples are now starting to hurt me — they feel like cold sores all over my chin. I’ve tried products with sylicalic acid but that’s not helping anymore. Do you guys think Proactive (benzoyle peroxide) is ok to use?
Candy B replied: "My Dr said not to use proactiv during pregnancy. She also said besides keeping your face clean, there’s not too much you can use. When mine gets really bad, I use a little rubbing alcohol on the spots and they go down. I know it’s not too healthy for my skin but it helps! Good luck and congrats!"
Jose G replied: "rub mustard oil on top of each pimple and let it dry, with a hot towel rub it and take it off, dont use make up with alot of moisturizers, this can cause more pimples
try it and then give me athumbs down, im sure you wont
it works trust me, omg. its an indian acne treatment. yoiu will want to pay me when u see the results, your face will be cured in 2 weeks maximum, leave it overnight"
Magi 2000 replied: "Get the "Oil Control Lotion" fro Mary Kay.
Your acne should clean within a week."
jenniferlhadden replied: "I used Proactiv and had a completely healthy baby. (If you notice on the infomercial they profile a lady with severe pregnancy acne.) All doctors are different in their advice though. I stopped using all products with salicylic acid.
Use the Proactiv."
dragonflykissis replied: "I was told that I could not take any thing for the acne when i was pregnant with my first. But i do have a question for you, See when I was pregnant i got REAL bad acne all over my body, and I had a Boy. My friend who was pregnant at the same time had real bad acne on her face and she had a girl. I am pregnant for the second time and i am getting it on my face. Do you see where i am going with this lol. All i am wondering is do you know if you are you having a boy or a girl? I am just do my own study i guess!?! lol"

heat a qt of water, add 3 tblspns vinegar, make a tent over the pot, cover your head with a towel, steam your face. then dab some vinegar on your skin to clean, do this process 2 more times, then squeeze the blackheads. mix 1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar, chilled, dab on face to close pores and tone skin….
as a skin care routine,
raw unpasturized apple cider vinegar..
the following 2 testimonials can be seen at…
Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a "very bad complexion". She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!
you can get it at the health food store, or in some super marktet health food sections. i use bragg vinegar..
good luck
Cheryl writes, "My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up."
to drink it, put it in honey and water, or apple juice–tastes like cider..cost is 5 dollars a qt at the healthfood store"
I am willing to do just about anything to cure my pregnancy acne/oily skin!? I am currently using a Clearasil Salicytic Acid treatment and have been for almost a couple of weeks now and it almost seems like it is getting worse. I have Clean and Clear oil blotting sheets that I try and use to help combat oil. Its random that I use those. I also have acne on my chest that I have never ever experienced before getting pregnant. I don’t use anything on that. I try and wash my hands like crazy thinking its me touching my face but Idk what to do. I hate to spend lots of money on products..
Expecting Baby #1 replied: "Welcome to my world.

blkpearl replied: "Sorry to say that you will have to go see a dermatologist nothing will help that you can buy in the store. I had the same problem and after I gave birth my skin was still out of balance"
crazi3 c replied: "be careful what you take! some things could be harmful to the baby. talk to a doctor and/or dermatologist to be safe.
it’s most likely just all the hormones, which will pass once your pregnancy is through."
My Isabel is here! (9/25/08) replied: "there’s not much you can do with acne while pregnant..
i have it too.. and it got worse while pregnant.
switch to neutrigina acne stress control foam wash
it works really well for me (the best acne wash i have ever used, nothing else works)"

Jenifer C replied: "I am in the same boat as you well I was. I used On the spot acne control from Neutragena it works + I have it on my chest as well I use my face soap on that Clean and Clear daily pore cleaner I don’t know if they are actually working or if it’s just being so far along I’m 39 weeks and the last weeks or so my skin has looked radiant. I hope this stuff works for you, Good Luck!"
is there a cure for acne roseca? i developed it during my 2nd pregnancy and it seem to stay.? i have been prescribed some anti-biotic cream but it hasnt seemed to clear it up completly.
Andrew D replied: "There is no cure, no. You can ask for a topical cream called Finacea; it’s been studied to be more effective than MetroGel/MetroCream. Rosacea is not caused by bacteria, so antibiotics are usually not very effective at controlling it; they only help because they have anti-inflammatory properties. You can also ask for a pill called Nicomide; it’s a prescription anti-inflammatory medication specifically for acne and rosacea. There’s also prescription wash called Plexion which helps. (Rosacea responds best to combination therapy, where more than one medication is used to treat the condition.)
Finally, if these don’t provide adequate relief, you can pursue PDL (pulse-dye laser) therapy. This can provide long-term relief from rosacea, but it’s not covered by insurance. However, given insurance co-pays for medication and doctor visits, PDL can be a cost-effective option in the long-term.
Good luck!"
pjcat77 replied: "Try Prosacea! I just started using 2 weeks ago and saw results the next day! For some it can be irritating so sample a small size just to be sure you don’t break out more. I have very sensitive skin and worked great for me. I’ve had rosacea since I was 14, 31 now. Find at Walgreens.
I’ve heard it doesn’t work for visable vessels, but reduces redness, pimples, irritation….For the large vessels, I would do IPL (intense pulse light) Pricey but worth it. I get an IPL treatment 1-2/year and am going to use Prosacea daily.

Can I use acne wash during pregnancy? Is it safe to use acne washes and face creams while pregnant? What about " Nature’s Cure" acne treatment?
I will ask my doctor next week, but until then just wondering if anyone had any advice. Thanks.
Barbara H replied: "yes you can use that stuff i used noxema when i was pregnant,"
B replied: "Nature’s Cure is a pill, isn’t it? I wouldn’t suggest using it without consulting a doctor. You could also try checking the box or looking for a Nature’s Cure website. I’m sure they have info about it somewhere."
kroos20 replied: "they are all fine unless it says on the bottle not too."
proud mami replied: "If its a pill, I would not take the risk. I used Neutrogena acne wash and it left my skin so soft. Remember, when you are pregnant your face will suddenly be flawless; so maybe you should give Natures cure a break. So wont need it for a while. Best of luck to you and the baby."
Has anyone else experienced cured acne due to pregnancy? I’ve suffered from cystic acne since I was 14 years old, and am now 27. My acne was pretty severe on my upper back and slightly present on my face. I took Accutane during high school, and that seem to clear it up, but only for a few years- it resurfaced on my face. I would literally breakout with a new cyst/nodule if I skipped a night of washing my face. When I became pregnant with my first child in 2006, my acne completely disappeared and I haven’t had a breakout since. Sure the expected pimple here and there when my period comes, but its just a normal pimple- nothing like what I used to get. Now, if I don’t wash my face at night, my face remains clear! I was wondering if anyone else with severe acne has experienced this.
Mira replied: "Well I haven’t but it’s encouraging! I’m dying to have kids one day but because of my history with acne i’m afraid i’ll get it in the worst way… I know it’s very very common. I know a girl that had this happen to her, but it came back once baby was out of the oven. Congrats!"
Pregnancy Acne? How to get rid of it? With my first pregnancy and now with this one I have really bad acne (that looks more like a bumpy red rash). When I’m not pregnant my face is extremely clear. Anyone know a miracle cure? I’m hoping to clear it up or at least calm it down by May cause I’m going overseas to see my hubby.
Thanks in advance!
Ok…I CAN’T deliver until September and I’m going in May to see him. What could I possibly do before May?
Ok so it sounds like I just need to find a good foundation to "hide" it during the trip, lol.
Sorry if I came off snappy, past my bed time.
OOPS! did I say that? replied: "deliver. seriously. it’s like the high blood pressure or gestational diabetes. sometimes you just have to wait it out. just keep your face clean, and talk to the doctor. he might be able to give you something that’s safe to take.
EDIT: hon, i know you can’t deliver. i wasn’t suggesting that. i was just saying that it’s a solution to the acne. call the doctor and tell him you need to see him quicker."
Typh D replied: "Keep the stress down to a minimal, drink lots of water, eat when you feel the urge to, and try not to aim towards oily/spicy foods if you can help it"
JeNn replied: "you could try to wash your face me frequently…….or maby some over the counter face wash."
Emily H replied: "When I was pregnant my face was clearer than it ever was. So I don’t know what to tell you besides maybe talking to your doctor and seeing if there is any face wash that you could use that would work with the fact your body’s hormones are completely haywire. I would think that the acne is being caused from all the stress and hormonal changes your going through. Maybe a prescription cleanser is something that would help fix it?
Good luck!"
x-ta replied: "hi, I am suffering from the exact same thing! It is truly annoying. What seems to be working for me is to exfoliate like every 2-3 days. It takes the bumps away but I still have the red rash part. Sometimes I feel like I am going through puberty all over again. lol
good luck to u."
curly123 replied: "unfortunately theres not alot you can do, i have the same thing, dont wash your face more than twice a day, in the morning and at night, because it will dry it out and just make it worse, but you shouldnt use any topical ointment because the acids in them are not good if they get into your bloodstream. my doctor told me to use a very mild facewash and thats about all i can do…that and have the baby!"
b.jaworski replied: "Try wearing less make-up unless you absolutely have to…. I used a mild face wash and acyclic acid after care from clean and clear and it worked miracles…..but on the note of foundation it may cost more but I used the neturagena mineral make up and it covers like magic or even the Mary-Kay brand is awesome thick and covering but doesn’t take much or feel so heavy"
PREGNANCY AND ACNE help? What meds/vitamins can be taken when pregnant. I suffer with terrible acne, that can only be cured with accutane. Well I have been waiting to go on accutane, and have been on birth control for 6 months. I guess their was somthing wrong with my birth control because I got pregnant. I know you can’t take accutane when pregnant… But I NEED somthing to at least help a liitle. My acne is so bad it shocked the dermatologist. So I need somthing safe string and affective. Sombody please help. Oh I’m on monocycline is that safe? Help
♥Vee« replied: "Retin A works awsome
I had pimples on the bottom of my chin(i know weird place to get zits) but the retin a completly cleared it!
you should try that"
Does acutane cure severe acne? Is it safe? My husband is 22 and he has really bad acne. His dermatologist is recommending that he go on acutane…but I’m not too sure that I want him to try it. Yes I’ve heard that it does work wonders for the skin…but then the risks involved seem so severe at the same time. Drying out the skin (he already has EXTREMELY dry skin), liver/kidney damage, and even damaging sperm & complications with pregnancy.. etc. Any advice from experience?
sickerthanu replied: "It does cure acne but the side effects are severe! Just ask my ex-fiance! Violent outburst and irritable, plus 20 other side effects. Avoid the side effects, go to . Good Luck, sometimes the side effects out way the cure!!! It’s just not worth it! God Bless."
I am 25 weeks pregnant and am suffering from SEVERE acne I absolutely want to stay in the house 4 ever now. I have had acne since about 15-16 years old. Then it was my forehead that was moderate to severe. Then it moved down to my cheeks and chin with blackheads on my nose. NOW – 21 years old, I had clear skin for 2 MONTHS in late 07. THEN I had a serious breakout all over my face – moderate – around Xmas. It went away from my forehead and stayed on my cheeks. In march, YAY I found out I was preggo, but AWW, I’m still breaking out. Now it’s just getting worse… I have severe acne all over my cheeks with moderate on my chin. EVERY morning I wake up to small whiteheads all over my cheeks and chin with swelling/redness. I am lightskinned BLK and my skin is just getting ravaged. Whether or not I pop them, I get marks all over. My regimen is:
AM
Wash face with Dove soap and Acne Stress Wash (Neutrogena)
Apply Ambi Cream
PM Baking Soda mask for 5-10 min
Wash with Dove
Apply Ambi
Thats it. And once I started this it seemed to get worse. My face actually is sore. I am supposed to be helping plan my shower, a business manger for a drill team and I don’t want to go out any more. No one I know suffers from acne this bad especially @ 21 and BLACK, and then pregnancy is when you’re supposed to glow. I dont. And no it’s not a girl. I had a boy and my skin was cured from acne. I having another and my skin is at its worst. Please help.

Melissa G replied: "it is your hormones i’m afraid-some people are blessed with pantene-model looks all the way through and others look like s***. make sure you cleanse and tone, then moisturise. toning ensures all leftovers of make-up and grease are removed, which you wouldn’t be able to see without a cotton ewool pad. mositurising is very important because if your skin is dry, you produce your own natural oil, makiing the skin look greasy. moisturiser helps stop this, and therefore helps prevent spots."
♥The Baker♥ Baby Bun Due 2-16-09 replied: "Has your water intake increased since you became pregnant?
For me this is happening and I’m almost 13 weeks now. Before I was pregnant I hardly drank water, pretty much just soda. Once I found out I was pregnant I dropped the soda completely and drink water and juice. My skin is clearing up and is looking much better now but I think it’s because the water is flushing my system out. Drink lots of water and clean your face with mild soaps (but don’t over clean it) and maybe that will help you.
I use just regular baby soap to clean my face.
Good lucky mama!"
firsttimemom replied: "Have you always used the dove soap, the neutrogena was and the ambi cream? If not if may be that you are allergic to some ingredient in these products and that could be what is causing the swelling, redness and soreness. I used neutrogena before I was pregnant and now if I use it it makes my face break out and things worse."
V replied: "It is your hormones, stop putting all that crap on your face!!! Wash it with whatever you used before, most acne meds only make the situation worse, your hormones will balance out a bit soon, this is natural during pregnancy, but it usually goes away. Ask your OB to suggest something, it’s their job to care for you during your pregnancy."
Nichole M replied: "Ok soap is a BIG no no. Any kinda of soap leaves a film on your skin and if if floats that means there is wax in it which clogs pores. You need to get yourself a water based face wash. Make sure you never pick at them, beacause you can push the bacteria deeper into the pore making it worse. I would lightly exfoliate about every three days. They have product for exfoliation in the drug stores. If you wash your face with a wash cloth make sure is clean and Don’t scrub your face with it. Also being pregnant has some to do with it all those hormone are surging right through you."
*Pinky* replied: "Okay first thing first. Neutrogena is really horrible for your face to be honest with you, Hun the same thing happened to me with any Neutrogena product it was to harsh for my skin so I suggest to you to use something that is for sensitive skin, I found Johnson and Johnson Persa Gel its good for all types of skins and it worked a miracle for me, Maybe you should try it. Most women also get acne when they are pregnant I know I have more acne since I got pregnant But if you can find that Johnson and Johnson Gel I would have you try that. I hope this helps you"
Does Nature’s Cure work like birth control? Of course Nature’s Cure doesn’t protect against STDs, pregnancy and all that stuff. I’m not that naive. But I mean since Birth Control can help with acne, and so can Natures Cure. At least that’s what I’ve heard. Because I’m young, my mom would probably be more open to me trying Nature’s Cure to clear up my acne.
Jane D replied: "No, they don’t work the same way. I’m not really sure about your question, because you know that it doesn’t work against pregnancy etc. So they don’t have the same method of reducing acne. Birth control works on a hormonal level. Your hormones, in part, tell your body how much oil to produce in the skin. And if those hormones are controlled by a birth control pill, it will also affect the oiliness of your skin. Nature’s Cure does not affect your body’s hormone levels. So it probably works by somehow reducing the oil that your skin is producing, or maybe by killing bacteria on your face. Birth control pills change your hormones, which change oil levels. Acne medicines that you put on your face don’t change your hormones."
